it get a lot of privileges from the winner, giving back to the roman people
the privilege to participate to the cult of Giunone Sospita. It prospered
in the period of the Empire, but fall on 380 when it was sanctioned the
Christianity the religion of State. The village revived in the century XII
by the work of Benedictines monks. It passed by the Colonna hands to the
Cesarini one and then to the Cesarini-Sforza. Interesting is the walk in
the medieval village with the Colonna palace and the church
of the Collegiata, as much is the archaeological area of the Giunone
Sospita temple, placed on the Lanuvio acropolis,
today inside the villa Sforza Cesarini. It completes the tour the visit
to the Civic Museum.
